It is customary to introduce each other before the start of the game.
It is polite to clap a ‘good shot’ whether for or against, but not a lucky shot for your side.
It is impolite to clap a bowl that has gone wrong for your opponent to your advantage.
Keep within your rink and walk up the middle as you approach the head.
Stand well behind the head at least two metres from the jack.
After the final bowl of each end stand clear of the Head while the 3’s decide on shots. Bowls can be passed to the 2’s to keep count of shots taken out.
If an umpire is called, all players should leave the green until the umpire’s decision is made.
Do not walk up the rink in front of the player who has just bowled. They have possession until their bowl comes to rest.
Do not turn your back on a bowl, stay on the mat until your bowl comes to rest.
Do not walk past the end of the rink if a player is on the mat and about to bowl. Wait until the bowl has left their hand.
